'Don't Die Hesitating' is a ground-breaking seminal work on the deep psychology of survival. The book has little to do with the equipment we carry in our rucsacs - everything to do with what experience we have in the outdoors as professional practitioners, and how we bring that experience into play when the muck hits the fan. From being sternly critical of those who purport to be outdoorsmen and women who merely play at it: buying all the gear and looking at tv programmes to then call themselves 'outdoorsmen' to getting the harsh message across that we need to 'switch-on' to our immediate environment, this book has, as expected, stirred meaningful discussion amongst professionals to make all healthier more useful individuals when the going gets tough.
